Testing for Marine Vessels

Seakeeping

A vessel’s performance is not only measured in perfect conditions. Advanced tools like planning hull time-domain simulation software, can go beyond calm water Savitsky planning analyses. By examining dynamic response versus effective power, or a ship’s wake model, existing hull forms can be analyzed or modified, and new hull forms optimized. Other dynamic behavior can be analyzed at multiple off-design conditions, prior to construction. Geometry can easily be imported as DXF or IGES and with built-in geometry of appendages such as shafts, rudders, and skegs (fully wetted and ventilated), empirical analyses can easily be adapted to accurately model your vessel and the operating environment. Multiple configurations can be analyzed and with the ability to adjust frequencies, wavenumbers, amplitudes, and phase angles, irregular seas can be synthesized with high precision. Let Ocean5 put our analytical tools to work for you.
